a good day for quintron and miss pc. (the kset clip rocks - edit: it all rocks)
Yeah, I liked the Witch in the Club mp3 you posted a while back--is that song in there?
How about that Vega doing GR? Man, he looks pissed. And the young Genesis P I find quite inspiring. The anti-evangelist. At the end of the lo-o--ong clip he open-mouth kisses an ecstatic guy in the audience, to the chagrin of a YouTube commenter.
physical (as well as musical) audience confrontation was a big part of vega's trip. that and chain smoking.
you missed the surf disco category
thanks Tom
Thanks for the links Tom, a nice way to start the week. Seeing King Crimson labelled as New Wave/Post Punk put a grin on my face.
Adrian trumped Bob in that particular incarnation of the band.
Tom, those are excellent selections from the twilight of YouTube. Der Graaf rock, man.

Yes, Adrian Belew was incredibly exuberant. One would have to have a sense of humour to put up with the Fripp.
Speaking of intense guitarists (and fuzzy audio), check out Mahavishnu Orchestra:

Speaking of Tarkovsky, don't you think that just the end of Solaris is perhaps better than the entire film?

Yes, that ending is incredible.
Solaris is one of my favorite Lem books, but the movie is very different. (Good, though.)
I posted a MahaOrch YouTube clip a while back. (One of our regular abusive commenters gave me a hard time about it, so I attempted to defend myself.) It was Celestial Terrestial Commuters overlapping with Dance of the Maya--pretty good sound.
Just checked the link on YT and now it says: "this video has been removed at the request of copyright owner Sofa Entertainment because its content was used without permission."
There is just no decent reason for that.
