The Fluger, 1980 Artist: H. R. Van Dongen
The first of three covers painted by this artist in his unmistakable angular style. Van Dongen imagines the
Fluger as some kind of Aztec stone god come to life, even though Piserchia describes it as a dynamic creature, supple and quick-moving for its size. The El
Greco-esque figures in the foreground are a sonata of twisting, wrinkled cloth. Piserchia's preferred title for
this novel--about an ET assassin hired to take out
another ET on a destructive rampage--was Alien Kill.
