i heard screamingmedia was written up in the (a) recent wired mag... anyone see a copy?
There is a new one I haven't seen. It must be in that. Nothing in the previous (robots) issue.
There was this note in the Post about the IPO. I failed to post it, probably because of the nasty tone.
I saw it, while I was in NY or DC, I think it was in Wired, maybe at Bill's, not long after the party, next day?, or maybe just a blurb somewhere, but definitely a papermedia reference to screaminmedia, and I thought hey isn't that what I overheard Linda talking about.
O.K., I got it. Wired Oct. 2000 pg. 186. Long (8 page) feature article. Definite focus on founder Jay Chiat (Wired did a long, very favorable article on his failed office of the future make over at Chiat/Day; this one picks up where that left off.) They note the disappointing IPO, as well as the very thin margins in the content repackaging market, but generally seem more concerned with getting inside Chiat's mind. They clearly like him, in the Wired cult of personality way. Maybe someone closer would bristle at some of the observations, but from my distant perspective this seems like a positive article. "The entusiasm with which some Screamers embrace the trafficking of arcane content is almost scary."
