In a sane world, Frum would be leaving in shame for coining an incendiary, diplomatically deaf phrase that set back the cause of Iranian moderates and South Korean peace initiatives 20 years. Instead, he's leaving because our genius President scratched out the word "hate" and wrote "evil" (or so speculates Timothy Noah) and doesn't want some speechwriter taking credit for the whole phrase. Please, please, beam me up.
One bittersweet irony, at least, in that "neo-traditionalist" Danielle Crittenden gets to play a very traditional role: Lady MacBeth, whose overweening sinks her hubby. No doubt the Right is glad to have the gals back where they belong.
