is new york flaking out?
when did they start hyping this storm? wednesday? thursday? breaking into shows with special reports. you know its done when they start hyping worrisome beach erosion.
It was at least last Wednesday. A few meteorologists threw in caveats about "too far in advance", but weather is just one more excuse for blanket coverage these days, wheather anything happens or not. The funniest part is that they kept predicting that Tuesday would be the worst of it, but all sorts of things were cancelled yesterday, and people got mad because it really wasn't that bad. My office closed at 1:30, which was fine with me, but today is much worse, and we're back at work, along with the school kids, because everyone is kicking themselves for closing yesterday.
my customer in Southampton said they have well over a foot so far!!!

NYC "weather porn" indeed for almost a week, then the retractions without remorse. It did configure pretty close to the model though, still no excuse for the hype.
