NASA is expected to announce this week that it has proved the existence of "dark energy", a cosmic force that counteracts gravity and will keep the universe expanding forever. The announcement will effectively demolish the theory that life will be wiped out in a "big crunch" when the universe collapses, and should end decades of academic dispute.

Like the wise ones have said all along; what big bang? & Satan of course eats dark energy while sitting in his lake of fire, darkness visible, playing the two-handed engine.

I dunno, the crunch and the bang don't have to go together, but these are entropic times we live in.
We'll see how conclusive this proves to be; it may just be a way to divert attention from the Shuttle mess. I'll believe in dark matter when I see it.
Oh wait, what is that shadow hovering over Washington...it's dark, but it has no substance.

Everything in nature is cyclical. Except the universe itself, which will just sputter out and die at some point. Riiiight.

My sources tell me that the big bang and big collapse are but one repitition in the never-ending-purr.
