It'll have to compete with The Lord of the Rings, Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy, and Douglas Hofstadter's Gödel, Escher, Bach for oversize shelf space in young scientists' libraries, but the Baroque Cycle has the potential to be the next literary Nerdapalooza.

i prefer paperback, less cumbersome.
next time i see you i would like to talk about how a library would look and last with only paperback's, i for one like hard covers (first editions also tikkle the collector in me), now i know what to buy you for holiday gift.....
this librarian prefers her 900+ page books in paperback and has other items on her christmas list.
