ran across this page of nyc history links while trying to find a picture of the church on east 3rd between a and b. looks like they are just about finished restoring the dome to its original copper finish. guess i need one of them new fangled digitized picture recording devices. then i could astound you with images of that and of the new bar on allen st named after the infamous argentine estrella de futbol, Diego Maradonna. yet for some reason i didnt see any tvs for watching the game. maybe they are forthcoming.
also, anyone been to loreley yet?
croxley ales (formerly pierrot) on b between second and third has 30 beers on tap. (just read that its part of a small new york chain of bars)
the catholic church on 3 btwn a-b is called the church of the holy redeemer, if thats any help. also I saw gwar and flaming lips and old skull show in the auditorium (entrance on 4th) late 80's.
How was Gwar?
They where a fabulous slime fest / worse than front row at a gallagher show. old skull was cool too. "

Get Out of School (Restless) 1989
Billed as the youngest punk band in the world, these noisy Wisconsin tykes (two Toulon brothers and a non-fraternal drummer whose dad is in the Tar Babies) make a godawful calamity on Get Outta School, screaming and ripping through fifteen semi-coherent noisefests that are amusingly bad but still hard to believe as the work of nine-year-olds. With daddy Toulon (who has some connection to Missing Foundation) co-producing, these precocious skate-rockers switch from dead serious ("Homeless," "AIDS") to silly ("Hot Dog Hell") in a flash, sounding like nothing so much as a pre-teen birthday party spiked with Jolt cola and amplifiers."
