Nice. Here is the wikipedia primer if anyone needs a little background. SDR is going to get rid of interference by making our radio devices smarter (more adaptive,) and this is a key step in most techno-utopian futures where everything is (un)wired together.
the EET article discusses the concept of getting RF designers to think like SW engineers. although not impossible, that's akin to asking a SW engineer to rebuild a carburetor.
