it was good while it lasted... the high from the exit poll numbers... but it didn't last too long.
i was SO wrong about this one. never expected the R's to pull out so many NEW voters.
But we did a great job, too - and we were very close.
With a slightly better horse on our side, and a slightly weaker one on theirs, we'd have won handily.
Hillary 2008.
Another Senator who voted for the Iraq war? Whose very name is red meat for the Bushvoters? Geez, I hope not.
i actually mostly just meant, "get ready for the hillary 2008 campaign," not, "i endorse the hillary 2008 campaign." she's going to run in 2006 against either Pataki or Giuliani, raise a huge amount of money, win (i think), and be in the pole position.
i do NOT think that a 2002 vote to authorize the use of force will be a decisive issue in the 2008 primaries.
as to the bushvoters, i think we've just seen that a polarizing candidate can win. i think that by 2008 HRC may be softened enough not to piss off the 10% sliver in the center....
Which is not to take away from my appreciation for your efforts this time around. I just hope we don't have to rally around another compromise(d) candidate in 4 years.
