the allergy alerts have been at "High - Very High" since mid april. anyone else getting hammered extra special this year? every one i talk to is. i hear its cause the decorative cherry, apple and pear trees are all male now. so instead of 50/50 m to f its almost all male pollen pumpers in urban settings.

That male pollen, just flyin' through the air. Males!

CA is having a big pollen year also. Unusually heavy spring rain.

No problems here, but the guy at the deli was sneezing up a storm as he was handling and bagging my food. Either he has allergies or deadly bird flu.

I don’t buy the male tree thing; ornamentals are not that large a part of the biomass. This is a bad (or is that good?) year for pollen, but it has more to do with weather and, perhaps, an increased susceptibility to allergies in the population in general. National Geographic had an article on the subject (airplane reading.) Basically it comes down to getting too clean; sometimes you need to role in the dirt to inoculate yourself.

I'm good at dirt roles.

well, ryley's been stuffed up for a month and his eyes are all puffy a lot. i don't know as he can accumulate any more dirt, and the baths are few and far between lately, but his tibetan babysitter said to give him ginger and orange peel in hot water.
