This is totally stupid, but I'm posting it anyway. My least favorite media story, combined with the most over-referenced add campaign of late (with a dash of really poor flash programming thrown in,) makes for... wassup elian. (unless you have a crazy fast connection this won't play right the first time through - due to the poor programming. Wait for it to end, and then rewind (control click on the image to get the flash menu) and play again.)
Least favorite news story? You a commie? No kidding though, good flash. Perhaps, to date, the most pertinent bit of coverage of this most important national crisis. My TV doesn't play commercials so what are we talking here? this a Budweiser commercial reference? because I do a little ad work for Budweiser, they're not paying me for it yet, but...
Your tv doesn't play commercials? Were can I get one of those? (and yes, Budweiser. What did you do for them?)
Sorry, that was a trick, gave up the tv some years ago; for me it was much easier than giving up cigarettes. Not to mention you don't have to go far to get a tv fix when needed. For budweiser, I mention them in my posts on occasion. As a school of advertising dropout, class of 77-79 University of Texas, I still sometimes see the world as a big ad campaign. Enclosing separately to your email a photo which was not only going to be my last "ad campaign" (I lied, its not), for budweiser, but is also my Rocheblave bedroom.
Jim L. needs Ad Critic. Somebody said the adds are the best thing on TV. Given that's where the money is, it makes sense. At least they're shorter than most of the shows.
that was fun thanks
three days and nearly a million hits, ne pas mal.
heres the latest, as the associated press protects its valuable ass ets. also click back on the original link for updates.
How is this different from what Mad Magazine (are they still around?) did for years, taking an existing media, changing it around, inserting it into yet another media--magazine cartoons, flash cartoons--and making fun of something that desperately needed to be made fun of? Bonner and Lanthrop rule.
funny, i dont hear budweiser bitching about "anti-intellectual property theft from the myriad parodies. how about kudos to playboy for mirroring the parody. heffner probably has more lawyers than ho's...ur, i mean "playmates".
here's the link to the ap letter sent to the original geocities site (might be redundant.) This is an excellent display of what the net can do. The original site is down, but it's already been mirrored on other sites around the world. How are they going to stop that? (Well, I guess the answer is to get a one world government together so that big corporations can extend their legal rights everywhere...)
