small aircraft crashes into high-rise nyc apartment building.
CNN.
How awful.
Red and blue stripes might have prevented this.
the plane is registered to yankees pitcher cory lidle who it was just reported has a pilots license. no word yet on who was on board though.
channel 11 says he was on the plane...
cnn says he was alone.
I just heard 4 people dead, but maybe 3 were in the building.
Now I just heard 2 people total.
Where's Linda? Isn't she supposed to start these threads?
i dont find linda all that threatening. ohh wait, i see, you meant threads.
im not ruling out the possibility he was in league with al qaeda and you wouldnt either had you seen him pitch.
well now i just look ridiculous. can you unfix your error?
Are you threadening him?
Man, Mayor Bloomberg has a delicate way with words (quote from the NY Times):
“It’s very tragic,” Mr. Bloomberg said. “We have to say a little prayer for those we lost, the two human beings whose lives were snuffed out.”
Philip Greenspun with some informed speculation.
Conventional wisdom is that new pilots are most likely to screw up badly enough to kill themselves in the first 100 hours of flight time. (New motorcycle, experienced cyclist or not, 1000 miles.) Instructor or not, what the hell was a n00b doing in that particular airspace?
The closest I came to dying in a small airplane was with a guy with less than 60 hours flying time. (He was a quick study, and practiced with the first release of MS flight simulator.)
