I just found this reference to the Pleiades as a seven sister grouping: "Some modern Chinese describe them [the Pleiades] as the Seven Sisters of Industry, or sometimes as the 'hairy stars,'..." in that big book of astronomy photos by David Malin called The Invisible Universe. Nice book. Thanks Alex.
