I loved Rizzuto, he was a window into old-school New York, including a pessimistic dark side that made him more complex than the sportscasters I grew up with in Detroit; a Film Noir comedian. Probably deserves to be in the Hall of Fame as a broadcaster more than a player: he was always great TV.
i think his best work was on meatloafs paradise by the dashboard light. aint no doubt about it; he was doubly blessed.
