Will be down in New Orleans for a few days in April, ostensibly for Jazzfest, but with nutria bringing 5 bucks a tail it might be a good time to earn a little extra pocket money.

Oh god.

My mom had a fur business, among a million other businesses (a very ambitious lady), and she used to throw mink tails at my head while shrieking: "WANT A PIECE OF TAIL? HEE HEE HEE HEE!"

(naturally I rolled my eyes and died a thousand inner deaths of embarrassment over everything she ever said)

Nutria tail soup?

I think it's about attempts to exterminate.

BTW, how much per mosquito?

Yeah, it's all about extermination. I'm sorry for the disgusting picture. If everyone would just post something new it will disappear off the page soon. And if you don't I may just delete it. Nutria tails, really, who needs it? Pretty amazing picture though. And mosquitoes are five cents a hundred.

I once took a boat ride around the bayou and the guy was a trapper of nutria. He told me that they were introduced to the area around the 1930's(I think) in hopes of controlling a plant that was mistakenly introduced to the area and was now overtaking the swamp. However the nutria decided that their new environment had much better tasting food and not only didn't eat up the invasive plant but propagated at a fast pace and reeked havoc on the natural environment.
