I boldly predict the dow will not go below 4000.

Yes. It's a total scam. I'm working on my "I got Pollack'ed by Krugman" post. This is a really simple situation that was made unnecessarily complex by people with a vested interest in it not being clear. We've all been had! To the tune of several trillion dollars, and it's just getting started.
the hard you fall the higher you bounce?? or maybe the wider the mess??
4000? Is that metric or english units?
In a flip remark at lunch the other day, I said "Dow 8000 by Christmas" It was below that this morning, and again this afternoon.
I've been learning a lot trying to decipher this guy's posts (and trying to figure out even whether he's somebody worth trying to figure out.) I just have an intuition that he knows what he's talking about. And if so then the situation is really ridiculously dire, but there is also a path out of the wilderness. Worth a struggle through the jargon I think. Also take a look back at earlier posts.
