The following is an excerpt of Sean Howe's book, Marvel Comics: The Untold Story, on sale Tuesday, October 9.
This brings back a lot of memories. Marvel was pretty moribund by the mid ‘70s, but Englehart, Starlin, Gerber, and a few others came along with some great stuff that revitalized the genre. The article confirms what seemed obvious to me at the time: most them were total heads. Couldn’t find it, but I think I posted once about the Doctor Strange story featuring the origin of God; it’s still a mind-blower in my book. Thanks for the link, Dave; I don’t suppose you actually read it…
i read the article if thats what you meant.
Good for you. I figured it was a public service post; seems like a lot to slog through on a subject I didn't think was of much interest to you. If you want to read the Dr Strange story I can lend the issues to you, but you have to use a glove box and turn the pages with forceps to avoid damaging the valuable relics.
