ladies and gentlemen, cascadian radical psychotherapist andrew feldmar
this is erin. although steve and i both watched feldmar's tedx talk and want to read his books. i saw him speak as part of an arts event in vancouver on the topic of melancholy. he says depression does not exist, was invented by the pharmaceutical industry to push anti-depressants. trained as a linguist, he says there are very few words in the english language that end in "ession":
oppression, expression and depression. in his mind oppression - expression = depression. the answer is not giving someone a pill but getting them out of a bad situation. quelle surprise, he's also into LSD and MDMA therapy.
if only there were a pill to get people out of a bad situation. we'd be rich!
