sent back my broken 7yo speakers to audioengine. they promised to fix or replace for $80. luckily they were unfixable so i got an upgrade from the previous model.
Score. Must have been all that clean livin'.
two nice upgrades were a remote and a power down mode on the remote. unfortunately it initiates a slow blinking light on the front of the speaker when it is in this mode. not as it powers down but all the time! just dim it for christ sakes.
Did they get bought by Samsung? I fucking hate those kind of lights. Do the designers have to live with their own shit? Or, I guess, maybe these companies don't really employ designers. In any case I'm really glad it worked out. Will be much better next time I'm invited over for a dinner party.
