Mr. Jim, Mr. Alex, Mr. Dave, Mr. Bill, Mr. Wheel, Miss Rachael, and Mr. Mark, do we have the energy, means, freedom of schedule, and location to have a party in the NY area next Saturday that would include all of you, and yours, and as many as five or six people I might invite? Maybe we will, maybe we won't. Either way, hope to see all of you during a visit bringing me to the area 26-31 Aug.

As always I'm a little confused about dates. But we definitely need to have a party. Maybe we can bribe Dave to open up his spacious digs... Or if we're talking Sunday, how about an afternoon trip to the Park with Mr. Wilson followed by the evenings festivities (this has been known to be an effective 1,2 punch.) Or will you still be in Detroit Alex? Is that Monday labor day? I really need to get a calendar. If Alex is away and Mike can only do Sunday before a work Monday, then you two travelers need to spend a week in between and come the following weekend :-). Falling Water would be one nice stop.

Not only did Jim scramble my page (ok, he took me out for a super dinner at Clinton St to make up) but he had the wrong dates for everything. I'm a bit bummed, as I will be in Detroit from the 22nd to the 31st. I'll be back on that evening, but if the travellers are leaving that day, I fear I'll miss you. Ah well, I've got family to attend to. If anything changes, great! Otherwise, I'm sure you folks will have a great time, and my thoughts will be with you.
While Alex's absence is dampening my spirits slightly, this is still the biggest thing that's ever happened here in our little world. Getting the "live" updates of the trip progress is excellent. Tension mounting. Looks like we should do something Sunday and/or Wednesday (I'm up for both days of course.) I got MB's O.K. for hosting something here (sure we had been drinking, but I'm not asking twice.) I vote for someone's house over a restaurant if possible. Wednesday is good for dinner party becasue Wednesday market rocks. But it would be nice to kick off the NY stay with a gathering. And of course, Wheel does have that 6L bottle stashed in the basement here, so eating at Rivington would make that part of it easy. :-) I'm sure we'll figure it out, but for the sake of getting the ball rolling on firming some plans up, I propose doing Sunday dinner here at m(b's)y place. Thoughts?

Mark Magee is as of last nite (sun nite) broke down in Lafayette, about three hours away. I'm looking for his cell # so I can call him, see what's up. Still I'm imagining arrival NY area (was gonna stop by see John in PA but he says he and Tia out of the pocket for the weekend), around Saturday, Sunday, Monday. I had surmised Saturday might be worth shooting for (partywise) but too many people have already expressed conflicts, and with Alex out of state for the whole trip anyway, certainly this won't be a proper dmtree hoe-down, I said ho-down. Be that as it may, some of us possibly, should maybe get together. But for your info Bill, on whose floor we sleep, I think we could be there anywhere from Sat. to Mon. and at some point Mark will go his way and I think I may shoot for exit to DC on Thursday or Friday. Franzen is in NY maybe Wed, Thursday too, so we have to put that in our pipe, and...
