"Core" is OK with me. It sounds cool because it has become a buzzword in the last couple of years. There's always "heartwood", but that may be taking the metaphor too far.

how bout 'kore' ... think demeter, underground, etc.?

by the way, cant say im 110% behind the idea. i understand the motivations but somehow it seems exclusionary. but who am i to stand in the way of progress? are there initiation rites? i think our guiding principle should be extermination of all the juice. let the rolling blackouts be your lodestar.

  • Yee Haw, we got a dee-bate! I wouldn't want it to seem exclusionary either. Maybe it does. The flip side I guess is that discussing that sort of stuff on the treehouse page might make others who aren't part of the "group" feel like the site is some sort of clique. Or I think that's the idea. And I agree with that to some extent as well. One fun thing about just doing all the planning out in the open is (and this is something I've thought about before, and always sort of hope for) maybe some Thursday night someone we don't know will show up (note that I always say rivington st. and nothing more specific, as I don't really want strangers showing up at my house.) That would be fun. Or not, I guess, depending. But for something like a private party, maybe it is bad manners to talk about it in public? I'm pretty split.
