I did a pilgrimage to Badrinath at the border of Tibet in monsoon season as that's when it is possible, rest of the year its iced under......yes getting there was wild, you would have to bus between avalanches, walk over one, and get on the next bus. We drove over one and I was saying forsure we are dead into the gorge, so high up.

The year was 1990, that is the longest I have been out of the country till next Feb, so 34 years ago.

It stopped in the middle of the night behind 6 other busses, so I walked and luckily #1 an army hummer showed up and drove me the rest of the way. That night the monsoon hit the area with the busses and some went into the gorge and 70 people died. I have photo's as I had a minox spy camera and newspaper articles to back this up.
