A friend of mine used to jump out of trees onto cardboard boxes when we were kids. Later he had a brief career as a professional stuntman. One of his regular gigs was The Master, also some episodes of Quincy.
lot of jumping off roofs and out of trees and bmx ramps in the comment thread. guess this is how someone ends up doing flips on snowmobiles. god help the parents that encouraged that. i did appreciate the guy who was like this was me and then i became a helicopter parent bit of honesty afraid that his daughter was too good a tree climber and relieved when she eventually became more interested in makeup.
I remember now that he was in that famous Quincy episode with the punk rockers. He and some other stuntman had to crowd around and protect the camera and operator in the slam pit at the club where they were filming.
i was just at the doctors and in the waiting room a law and order svu was blaring. it was about a teenage sex addict accused of raping his teacher though not without pinning it on her first. not particularly comfortable having fake lawyers in fake court yelling rape over and over. i put my headphones back on to drown it out.
