Only if it's accepted by NYSARC. Similar to my Reef-heron, it's not a highly migratory species, so people have doubts about its origins. There’s no clear evidence of captivity, such as a leg band, but some have questioned the feather-wear patterns. Ship-assisted vagrancy is also suspected, but that’s considered legitimate. There’s only one US record, from Florida, but unless someone cops to losing a captive bird it’s likely to be OKd.
