NASA is expected to announce this week that it has proved the existence of "dark energy", a cosmic force that counteracts gravity and will keep the universe expanding forever. i saw zipcar advertised in the subway yesterday. seems like it could be a good idea. you pay a monthly fee and then you have access to their cars, which are parked all over the city for $6-12/hour with a maximum per day cost $60-90. which is still cheaper than a rental. no gas, insurance. plus the monthly fee covers your rental charges.
