grand cru food (flavors, textures, colors) @ aldea west 17th
space is designed by lady that did corton
marea, locanda verde, and now aldea opened in 09, nyc never sleeps....
finally getting to corton next week
Cool. Can't wait to hear about Corton. Hope it lives up to the hype. I'm going to Locanda Verde tonight. Any suggestions (food or wine)?
the chicken, the gamay from gros jean to go with it (cheap and rosenthal delish), and start with a kerner (adige white), and do as much of the menu as you can, i did mostly veggie things (with the necc pork, like asparagus wrapped in proschuito:>)
We really liked Locanda Verde. Nice service, but loud. We shared snap peas with radish, some beats with pickled cherries, and a ridiculous chicken liver pate and meatball slider. On to "my grandmother's ravioli' and then could not resist sharing a dessert that sounded disgusting but of course was very good.
