So, due to some sort of security breach, our virtually wooden computer cracked into the Momofuko Ko rest. zone and snagged two spots for last night....I was clicking away on their site like a fucking Rhesus monkey to confirm and all, given the stress that ensues when dealing with their system....After I calmed down only then it dawned on me that I had to figure out how the hell I was going to pay for this...Anyway, would have to say was totally worth it...I don't know, maybe I don't get out much, but this was pretty great. Ten or so courses, best maybe first 6- vibrant fresh sushi/crudo items, tiny amazing oyster (dont ask what kind) came first..Then various little tortelliini w/duck in pretty crazy salty broth which worked best w/intense basil leaves,,,def too salty on own, but had it all anyway...great torn pasta w/snail&something sausage and crispy chicken skin, raw fluke w/buttermilk poppyseed combo, now classics (I guess) soft cooked egg w/caviar and tiny chips, sweet ass onions...& the shaved foie thing delivered for sure...then some duck platter...to be continued...
Ok...so where were we? I had wine pairing-(list below, they emailed it to me)...MS had essentially one and a half glasses, first was completely nutty-as in wild ,not legumesque-- Scholium Project white from Calif...Dont know grape, but was Lopez-y to my mind..oxidized-ish but a bit thicker...great, want more. Best Cali wine had since old days of Kistler pinot gris..Turley was a surprise as well...
What does the all powerful Skinny one thiunk?
In some weird way the dessert summed up alot for me-Pretzel panna cotta & rootbeer ice cream and other crunchy debris on the plate-served with the oatmeal stout...A Strange transportive relocation to carnival days as pre teen or something occured...but not in nostalgic manner like great grandma sauce comfort zone, more of a "Matrix" pluged in quality,,,Im assuming this psychological dimension is typlical of what Adria and Keller have unleashed and Wylie and Grant Achatz and others have built on...anyway for what ever reason came away with much more clear idea of the sort of meta-food experience, weaving of the notion (and memory)of a taste(and place) and the actual eating of it...This can be very powerful.
Well, just talkin here...Any one else been there?

Actually, getting res. there is not as tough as sound...sort of. Got ours like, second try more or less. But you never know...I thinks is a good system basically. Worth the try.
