lots of oscar buziness. not completely through it. excellent cate blanchett character study for a type a creative. some underlying plot tension that i havent reached the meat of. not sure if it will matter in the end.

im not watching the world series but i kind of track on espn.com. some absolutely batshit games. heres the scoring summary thus far for tonights epic heading towards hour five. theres been a lot of talk about the construction fo the ball this season as homeruns are up dramatically but even more so in the playoffs as the complaint relates to the slickness making it harder to grip.

It'll have to compete with The Lord of the Rings, Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy, and Douglas Hofstadter's Gödel, Escher, Bach for oversize shelf space in young scientists' libraries, but the Baroque Cycle has the potential to be the next literary Nerdapalooza.
