the first euro 2012 semifinal between spain and portugal gets underway in about an hour plus. tomorrow has italy taking on germany. spain have been the darlings of international soccer for the last four years but their passing and possession heavy style of play has come under criticism of late. despite the technical precision it can be boring to watch more so because lesser squads they face now sit back defensively hoping to clog up passing lanes and then try to score on set pieces or quick counter attacks. will be interesting to see if portugal plays this way or will allow their playmakers ronaldo and nani to be offensive-minded.
When I plug an iPod touch into my Mini Cooper, the iPod says something to effect of "This accessory will not charge your iPod". Now my Mini is an obsolete accessory. Shit.
ra dickey is a 37 year old knuckleballing phenom (a term normally ascribed to the young) who just threw back to back one hitters for the mets. he is leading the nl in wins, whip and era and is second in strikeouts.
no kickball across from 135 this summer but plenty of flop sweat. if i see someone chewing on a mouthguard i cant be held responsible for what i might do.
tiger is in the lead after the first two rounds at the us open. just checking the tee times for today and he doesnt start until 605pm est. this is why the open should never be west of shinnecock hills. nobody should have to watch golf after cocktail hour. its positively indecent!
dont know if this link will last long because its very important that you only watch this replay on espn or by the reichsholders in whatever god forsaken country this was broadcast in.
loved this goal, btw, which was the game winner for england yesterday though all three of their goals were pretty.
its a hoary sports cliche, it being, "i couldnt have done it without my teammates" but they wouldnt be cliches if it werent often true. i believe that in itself is a cliche as well as noting that that is a cliche.
Earlier tonight I was spouting my quack and baseless notion to a friend that motion picture was the oldest art form and that it took thousands of years to make it technologically possible. Now my theory seems to be officially debunked.
