In his essay ‘Junk Culture’, published in 1961, Alloway made a similar claim with regard to the objects of assemblage. The objects of this art are not inert, he argues, but have a context and a history. He notes that ‘essential to junk culture is preservation of the original function and status of the objects in the new context of the work of art’.48
dont look for grim war visuals but between this and video of burning children its been a affecting week. probably a lot more gruesome things in reality but this was striking. been warned.

hmm, seems an appropriate standard bearer for our times. maybe the italians can keep him.
got paramount+ because i set up my parents account and, well, they can barely find the app button on the remote so someone should use it. mostly crap but has champions league soccer and some random shit that isnt useless. havent really looked deeply into it but thought they would have more classic shows from the cbs library not that im likely to watch them just, why not? maybe the studios that produced them own the rights though but its probably some sort of money issue. whatever.
so im watching colin from accounts which is a pretty decent australian relationship comedy which they shove ads into because thats what streamers do now unless they can extort more from you to remove them, and im pausing between shows at which point a promo pops up on the screen. its frozen not active but any square inch of your mindspace they can monetize they will do so. i recall reading not long ago that i think walmart bought some tv brand not for the value that market had but in the ad they could run on the app page while you decided what service to engage. fucking madness.
guess i have been misprouncing this for some time.
alfonso cuarón limited tv series on apple+.
long needed pruning of old bookmarks underway. surely to fall short of all thats needed to be removed in one night. saw that luis tiant died. practically a baby at 84. probably a bigger blow to bostonians than the mother of robert kennedy jr.
always wondered if there was a way to eliminate the middleman and pay for votes. this is a modest end around. bill, a $47 check is waiting for you.
dont know if any of the hundreds of devotees of dmtree recall dave winer.
As blogging pioneer Dave Winer’s site turns 30, it’s a reminder that good writing and thinking has flourished beyond the reach of social media
i think ol' charlie hustle was the original header for this page. probably be the first line of his obituary, that and i sold his second seasons baseball card for weed in college. for those keeping score he was 83.
