I'm posting this only as an excuse to mention that I met a guy who was the first man dropped back onto Bikini Atoll after the hydrogen bomb test in 1952. He was collecting sensors that had been left there, but they were all vaporized. Yikes. He said he knew Teller, but I was too shocked by the whole thing to ask any interesting questions.
