what i saw dec 25 1979. on tcm tonight at 230am.
once again contractual obligations ruin live tennis. nbc has the final weekend rights to the french open but refuse to preempt soap operas to show a roger federer semifinals match. and since they own the rights neither espn which has been airing the rest of the tournament, nor THE TENNIS CHANNEL, which is forced to air some long forgotten tour event only to rebroadcast the semis later this afternoon. ultimately i dont know who is to blame, but it sure aint fan friendly. way to grow your sport, tennis.

federer is down two sets to one right now.
bergman night on tcm
just rewatched casino royale in its usa network broadcast premiere, yaknow after its played 500 times on nonbasic cable and i could be wrong but i didnt see this scene, and they might have shaved a bit off the end as well. yup, i just found the ending scene, they chopped about 40 seconds off. i hope those extra 5 minutes of commercials were worth it. fuckers.

ok. did the math. the movie is about 40 minutes short of the 3 hour block allotted. usually tv has 17min of commericals per hour. so they must have shaved about 10min from the movie so they could have the convenience of plugging it into any three hour slot rather than add 15min and cause scheduling problems. no comment.

on to more pleasant concerns, dont see why eva green isnt as big a star as anne hathaway, but that may be in part her own doing.

the ducks are not mine

Wow. Almost.at aggregates real time posts about specific events from Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and Twitpic. TechCrunch has a write up. Looks like that could be useful.

It also interesting from a design point of view. That is a very sophisticated, desktop-like, interface. You can also download it as a standalone application of OS X. It's made using Cappuccino which basically makes it possible to program to Apple's Cocoa frameworks and have the result come out as web ready javascript + HTML. Very slick.

Air France said Monday that it had lost radar contact with an Airbus A330 passenger plane travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. Officials said that search efforts were underway around a small island off the Brazilian coast.

GM to Build Compact Cars in US; UAW OKs Contract- AP
The reformation of GM is in high gear. The automaker said Friday that it plans to reopen a shuttered U.S. factory to build subcompact cars that will be the smallest vehicles GM has ever produced here. An element of the company's shift from hulking SUVs to more gas-sipping microcars, the move comes as GM's prepares to announce the fate of the poster child for gas guzzlers, the Hummer brand

wow, they are brilliant!!
