EATALY This giant supermarket from Turin, Italy, is to open in New York in a year. Its 32,000 square feet will include restaurants and market areas. Joe Bastianich and Mario Batali’s restaurant company are partners: 200 Fifth Avenue (23rd Street).

just woke up and saw that us was playing brasil in soccer on espn2. brasil scored within the first six minutes. two minutes later a brasilian player faked getting tripped to draw a foul. makes me so angry. one time someone should just haul off on someone that did that and kick his teeth in. its not like we are going to win anyway. non-cheaters worldwide would heap praise on whoever did it.

Tivo Alert TCM Wednesday 6/17 6:00AM 1968
Tragi-comic revisoning of the famous debacle as a function of over-invested aristocracy vs. professional soldierly. Probably looks better now than when it came out, with proto-Python animations of 19th century political cartoons and scenery chewing turns by Brit greats like Gielgud and Howard, along with a very young Vanessa Redgrave.
Those who know history are doomed to laugh at it. (and fashion lovers get both Lords Raglan and Cardigan in one flick…)
