Frances Tiafoe will face his friend Taylor Fritz in the semis, which means that an American will make the U.S. Open final. There hasn’t been an American man in a major final since 2009, when Andy Roddick lost to Roger Federer.
also already one, possibly two american women in the semis neither of them gauff who won last year.
went for the courtroom dramas on criterion this month and started with two stinkers, runaway jury and ...and justice for all. a lot of wasted talent... i guess. the score on and justice is appalling. its dave grusin who looks like he scored half the movies and shows for a decade. bleh. should have stuck to tv.

One of this month's series on criterion channel is New Hollywood - 70's flicks such as The Last Picture Show, Seconds, Days Of Heaven, Mickey and Nicky and, you guessed it, shitbirds, The Last Detail.
Got sucked into Better Call Saul. About halfway through the series. Excellent writing and performance, so far it lives up to the hype.
I figure dave and bill consumed it years ago.
